CATS: The Musical
Now and Forever
When you notice a cat in profound meditation,

The reason, I tell you, is always the same:
His mind is engaged in a rapt contemplation

Of the thought, of the thought, of the thought of his name:
His ineffable effable
Effanineffable
Deep, and inscrutable, singular Name.
- T.S. Eliot
(from "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats: The Naming of Cats")
The longest running show in London's West End with 9,000 shows, longest running show on Broadway with 7,485 shows (for which I was greatly privledged to have been at the last show), CATS has been presented in over twenty-six countries and has been translated into ten languages (and counting!), although the title itself has never been translated. In Sweden, it was performed by a bilingual cast who performed in German and English on alternate nights. CATS has been seen by some 20
million people, and the number is still rising, thanks to on-going tour groups around the world. CATS may be one of the most beloved musicals in the world (even tho it is, technically, an opera.)
This is my pick of the best CATS FanFiction on the net.
